Dr. Joseph Esposito
After I saw the miraculous transformation of my dad, I knew I wanted to naturally help people get well and stay well.
My family suffered for years with health problems and no one could give us an answer as to why. My father was disabled from a fall before I was born. He fell off a ladder, broke his back, fractured his skull, went deaf, and lost his sense of smell. He had backaches every single day of his life. It seemed like there was nothing that could be done. Even as a child, I remember watching my dad in pain and wishing there was something I could do.
When I learned about chiropractic, for the first time things started to make sense as to why my dad was in pain and I knew there was hope. By correcting his misaligned spine, it reduced the pain and allowed his organs to function at a much higher level. Chiropractic was a life saver for my dad. It allowed him to return to a more normal life, and by allowing his body to function normally, he was able to be a great dad and a spectacular family man. When I saw the miraculous transformation of my dad, I knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of my life, to naturally help people get well and stay well.
In 1981, I began my graduate work at Life University in Marietta, Georgia. I chose Life University because it was the best education available. The more I discovered about chiropractic, the more amazed I was at how far reaching it could be. Then, when I began to research nutrition, I found the “whole package of health,” that is, remove interference from the nervous system (unpinch the nerves) thus allowing the brain to communicate with the body, improve your digestive system, and give the body the food it requires to function at 100%.
“Naturally, I want to get you well and keep you well.” This is the principle by which I run my practice, by fixing pinched nerves, repairing the digestive system, and teaching my patients good nutritional habits. I want to reach as many people as possible to prevent them from suffering needlessly. We treat patients of all ages with a variety of conditions. It is so satisfying when a patient is able to understand the cause of his or her health issue and we are able to correct the cause, not just treat the symptoms.
I host a syndicated radio show called Health Talk Atlanta that allows me to have the venue to spread the message to tens of thousands of people every week. The positive response to every show is overwhelming. I feel very blessed to have this opportunity and plan on doing this for a long, long time.
Being a dad is the most rewarding thing that has ever happened to me. I love nothing more than spending time with my little one. We are both outdoor, adventure types, so hiking, trips to the mountains, and going for long walks are part of our agenda every weekend that we are together.
I personally receive chiropractic care on a regular basis, anywhere from two to four times a month. I could not imagine life without it. I played a lot of football and hockey when I was young and suffered for years before learning about the benefits of chiropractic. Now it is as much a part of my life as eating and sleeping. I eat a plant based diet; I have not had meat or dairy products for over 30 years. I understand that your body requires nutrients and the best source of nutrients come from plants that include fruits, vegetables, certain grains, nuts, and seeds. I find that if you approach your health with the philosophy of chiropractic and nutrition first, drugs second, and surgery last, you will live a long, happy, and healthy life.
